
Leonard Bruce
Leonard Bruce is a data analyst with the Gila River Indian Community, where he works to make digital systems practical, trusted, and useful for the people who rely on them. His day-to-day work focuses on data governance, records management, digital access, and building tools that help departments make informed, community-centered decisions.
Through his company, Tribal DataWorks, Leonard supports tribes across Indian Country in strengthening data governance, developing responsible AI approaches, and preparing for the digital infrastructure needs of the future. He also leads a range of community-based projects at home, including the O’odham Learning Library, the Roots and Rivers digital history initiative, and a growing set of storytelling and archival efforts to preserve local knowledge while making it more accessible to future generations. His work with AI and digital innovation seeks to center memory, community voice, and the belief that technology should help people and communities keep agency over their stories and their future.
