Angelina Panettieri
Angelina Panettieri serves as the Legislative Director for Information Technology and Communications at the National League of Cities (NLC), where she is a leading advocate for the 19,000 cities, towns, and villages across the United States. Operating at the intersection of federal law and local governance, she manages a complex policy portfolio that includes broadband deployment, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and spectrum management. As a central voice for local governments on Capitol Hill, at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the US department of commerce, Angelina ensures that the needs of local communities remain a priority in national policy discussions.
Angelina’s work focuses on ensuring local leaders are at the forefront of the conversation on emerging technologies, particularly regarding cyber resilience and Artificial Intelligence (AI). She led the development of both the NLC AI Toolkit and the Digital Equity Playbook, providing local officials with the strategic frameworks and roadmaps necessary to conduct needs assessments and develop localized plans. These resources empower municipal leaders to close the digital divide and implement AI ethically, streamlining city operations while proactively mitigating risks related to algorithmic bias and data privacy.
Before joining the NLC, Angelina honed her expertise in grassroots advocacy and public affairs for several Washington, D.C.-based associations, building coalition-based strategies to navigate complex regulatory environments.
Angelina is a graduate of George Mason University with both a Bachelor’s degree in Government and a Master’s in Public Administration and is dedicated to ensuring that the "Internet for All" vision is realized through strong, sustainable federal-local partnerships.
